Veggie Dog Farms…..

Oscar Mayer's Vegan Dogs are all natural and contain absolutely zero animal bi products. All of that agriculture must come from somewhere! This map shows the various nations outside of North America all of whom are participating in fair trade partnership of farms.  Of those nations, 65 percent are supplying Oscar Mayer for their Vegan Dogs in some way….

Fair Trade goods are just that. Fair. From far-away farms to your shopping cart, products that bear the fair trade logo come from farmers and workers who are justly compensated. They help farmers in developing countries build sustainable businesses that positively influence their communities. They're a nonprofit who teach disadvantaged communities how to use the free market to their advantage. With fair trade , the money you spend on day-to-day goods can improve an entire community’s day-to-day lives.

The Arch- St. Louis, Missouri

Grienermobile Fleet takes off across the Country...

Up to two weeks ago, the promotions and marketing teams of the Grienermobile have taken off across the country in an effort to blanket many major cities with news of Oscar Mayer's growth and development in the environmentally friendly markets. The teams have started to arrive in their target cities and a number of events are scheduled to take place.

Central Park- Manhattan, New York

The weekend of May 15-16 will see the opening of the Oscar Mayer Concert Series. John Mayer, a major wiener in his own right, will be performing a live free concert to kick off the festivities. Also performing will be Ani DiFranco, various Elvis impersonators and David Lee Roth.

The Fens- Boston, Massachusetts

May 15-16 the entire Boston Red Sox team will line up on duck boats floating down the Charles river as thousands of Yankees fans all wearing pinstriped uniforms and wielding the new hot dog launchers will line the shores of the river. As the boat slowly makes its way through Boston, the fans will unleash millions of hot dogs at the players.

Duck boats go past the Boston side of the Charles River aproaching the Longfellow Bridge during the Sox parade.

Mt. Rushmore- South Dakota

Repelling Wiener race. Contestants dressed as cocktail wieners will compete in various competitions. The first and obviously most riveting is the repelling race whereby the competitors repel off George Washington's forehead to the ground below. Lesser known competitions during the event include craps on Teddy Roosevelt's double chin and the scramble up the south slope, seen below.

SLICK WILLY!

Our 42nd president and local resident Bill Clinton has emerged as one of the very prominent public
figures to come forward as a spokesman for Oscar Meyer's new Vegan Dogs. This past weekend, as the
Grienermobile rolled into Bedford, NY, it was the former president who emerged in costume to emcee
an eating contest of the newest Oscar Meyer product

Mr. Clinton's participation isn't a far departure from his current lifestyle. In 2004, weighing in around 240
pounds, the former president was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation regarding his
heart. The following day, more tests were administered and it was recommended that he go for quadruple
surgery. The surgery was a success, but it was just the beginning of his journey towards a healthier
lifestyle.

After trying various diets restricting various food groups, Clinton's heart-rate wouldn't stabilize, a condition known as afibrillation. It was then that former President Clinton went completely vegan. He has since lost over 40 pounds and  is feeling great. With the rare exception of occasional seafood, Clinton has maintained the diet and is doing great.

"I live on beans, legumes, vegetables, fruit. I drink a protein supplement every morning — no dairy, I drink almond milk mixed in with fruit and a protein powder so I get the protein for the day when I start the day up.
"I did all this research, and I saw that 82 percent of the people since 1986 who have gone on a plant-based, no dairy, no meat of any kind, no chicken, no turkey — I eat very little fish, once in a while I’ll have a little fish — if you can do it, 82 percent of people have begun to heal themselves."

To accomplish this astounding feat, here are the rules. You must not eat:
  • anything with a mother or a face (no meat, poultry, or fish)
  • dairy products
  • oil of any kind, not a drop, not even olive oil
  • nuts or avocados
You can eat a wonderful variety of delicious, nutrient-dense foods:
  • all vegetables (leafy green vegetables, root vegetables, veggies that are red, green, purple, orange, and yellow and everything in between)
  • all legume(beans, peas, and lentils of all varieties)
  • all whole grains and products, such as bread and pasta, that are made from them — as long as they do not contain added fats
  • all fruits (except avocado)

Jetman Flies Over Grand Canyon

In preparation for the newest promotion of Oscar Mayer's Veggie Dogs, the Jetman has successfully run a test flight over the Grand Canyon. In cooperation with the Breitling Watch company, a Swiss adventurer completed a flight over the Grand Canyon with his jet-propelled wing attached to his back. Yves "Jetman" Rossy launched from a helicopter at 8,000 feet on Saturday and was airborne for more than eight minutes, soaring 200 feet above the rim of the Grand Canyon on the Hualapai Reservation.

Oscar Mayer has 'launched' a new distribution vehicle for their wurst creations. A hot dog launcher has been completed that would work very much as the T shirt launchers work in many arenas. Promotional teams will be able to launch packaged hot dogs or veggie dogs to the upper deck from many courts, fields, rings and rinks. The Jetman will be donning a head to toe Oscar Mayer hot dog flight suit for the ad to be filmed next week.

"Grienermobile"- The Birth of a Greener Wiener

As suspected, Oscar Mayer's previous announcement of their deal to create a completely solar powered Wienermobile is tied into the newest launch of their VEGAN products in early May. Oscar Mayer is clearly trying to capitalize on emerging clientele who are focused on health and the environment. The Wienermobile will be a new type of hybrid, rather than the entirely solar powered vehicle originally rumored to be manufactured. It will rely almost entirely on solar energy, but will be supplemented with electricity.

"We are trying to create a more eco-friendly way to run our business." Company spokesman George Molchan said. "In the upcoming months we will be announcing several other initiatives aimed at a more sustainable existence while maintaining a superior product."

The Wienermobile or "Grienermobile," as it is being dubbed will also be fitted to accommodate the hydrogen powered engines that are soon to be in production. Once that technology has been perfected, the Grienermobile can just be updated rather than build a new one. The updated vehicle will cut greenhouse emissions by over 90 percent now, and once the hydrogen powered model is in place, the only bi product will be a small amount of water.

In 2008, Oscar Mayer made their first adaptation to inflated gas prices and a move towards a greener policies by downsizing the Wienermobile to a modified Mini Cooper. The change more than doubled the milage for the Wienermobile while still catching eyes as it drives by. The milage ought to double or triple again to  with the new vehicle depending on the actual specs upon manufacture.

Its not yet known who will be the spokesperson for the Grienermobile or the VEGAN line and if Michael Strahan will be involved again, but it is unlikely. Several celebrities and athletes who are both environmentally conscious and vegan are suspected of taking part. They include Woody Harrelson, Toby Maguire, Portia de Rossi, Natalie Portman and Russel Simmons as well as former Olympic standout Carl Lewis, and former boxing great Mike Tyson.

My Bologna Has a Middle name….its V-E-G-A-N

It is revealed……Oscar Mayer will be releasing a new line of products that are completely VEGAN!!!! Thats correct, Oscar Mayer long known for their extensive line of deli meats, hot dogs, and bacon will launch a line of products that are not only vegetarian, but go so far as to omit all animal bi-products. The first of the products will be a soy based hot dog due to appear on store shelves May 11, 2011.

While vegan hot dogs already exist from a small number of companies, they have recieved  harsh criticism, which Oscar Mayer plans to avoid. The most common complaint is that the texture can be rubbery especially when the dogs are boiled. Furthermore, with either minimal flavor or an undistinguishable taste, 'veggie dogs,' as they are often called tend to repel more consumers than do they attract.

Oscar Mayer claims to have solved the textural issue whether you choose to boil, grill or pan fry the dogs. The Vegan Dogs will come in a variety of natural flavors while containing no cholesterol, trans fats or additives and remaining very low in fat and sodium. The flavoring is all natural and offer versatility to the uses of the product.

Depending on flavor, The Nutrition Facts should look something like this…

Ingredients:
water, soy protein, vital wheat gluten, tofu (water, soybeans), natural flavors (contains autolyzed yeast, yeast extract), wheat starch, evaporated cane juice powder, canola oil, spice, seasoning (spices, dehydrated onion), carrageenan, vitamins & minerals (thiamin hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin, calcium panthothenate, ferric orthophosphate, iron oxide, zinc oxide, dimagnesium phosphate, dipotassium phosphate), paprika and beet powder (for color),
salt, extractives of spices. CONTAINS: SOY and WHEAT.

Oscar Mayer Going Green

Is the Wienermobile on the way out?

No way…..Oscar Mayer has simply become a little more eco-friendly. They've apparently come to a deal to create a completely solar powered vehicle to be announced shortly. This is a huge advancement in Wienermobile history but far from the first time the vehicle was updated.

Here's a quick look down memory lane…..

Could the new Wienermobile be part of the new marketing campaign to be unleashed?

My Bologna Has a First Name Its…...

M-Y-S-T-E-R-Y ??????

That's right, Oscar Mayer, of the Kraft Foods Corporation has announced the launch date of their newest, and what should prove to be most diverse product….or so they say.

The company, largely known for various deli meats, hot dogs, bacon and its lunchables, is keeping the product hush-hush, so far. With a major ad campaign already known to be launching for the month leading up to its release, we're all left to wonder what the product could be. Speculation abound has produced several guesses as to what it could be

"Its a hot dog bazooka" surmises 8 year old Briarcliff resident and Oscar Mayer enthusiast Kyle Henderson. "I dreamed about it, it shoots more than a hundred feet!"

While local hot dog vendor Ray Henderson is hoping for something with a little more flavor. "Maybe a hot dog stuffed with cheese or chili or something?"

The waiting game has begun, post your guesses…..
